Bio

Arbel Illya enthusiastically puts his energy into working towards the betterment of his community. As a high schooler, Arbel volunteered at any opportunity he had with the Boys and Girls Club of America. Growing up in Los Angeles, he has seen first hand the damage that can be done to children when the education system prioritizes profits over students and teachers. This is the root of his desire to help and assist young students in any way possible.

As a student at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Arbel became the Signature Event Coordinator for Greeks 4 Kids, a non-profit that aims to provide assistance to young children at local elementary schools. He has already raised 20,000 dollars to be used to cover the cost of toys, playground equipment and school supplies for children in elementary schools in the Goleta area. He hopes to use his experience in Goleta to help organize more fundraisers in Los Angeles where he will attend law school in the fall of 2019.

When not working for the children of the community, Arbel can be found reading a book on his balcony or camping at any point along the California coast. He loves to fish and hike with the people he loves the most, his family.
